ZEEN101 Terms and Conditions

1. License Grant

ZEEN101 grants each customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to use its software products, including but not limited to Leaky Paywall, Flowletter, LocalCalendar, UniPress (iOS/Android), MultiPass, and all associated plugin add-ons and SaaS services (collectively, “Licensed Products”). This license is granted subject to compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable subscription or support fees.

2. Scope of Use

This license permits you to:

  • Install, configure, and use the Licensed Products on your owned website(s) and digital property(ies).
  • Utilize both internal (admin-facing) and external (customer-facing) functionality as intended, including subscriber management, newsletter delivery, paywall controls, and digital publishing workflows.
  • Receive updates and support as provided by your active subscription plan.

This license does not permit:

  • Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the software or license keys.
  • Installing the software on properties not owned or operated by the license holder without a separate agreement.
  • Circumventing license key or access restrictions.

3. Dual Licensing

Unless otherwise agreed, Licensed Products are distributed under a dual-license model:

  • GNU General Public License v2.0 or later (GPLv2+): Applies to any open-source components or where applicable to the core plugin code. You may use, modify, and redistribute this portion under the terms of the GPL.
  • Commercial License: Applies to all premium features, add-ons, SaaS components, and access to updates and support. By purchasing a license, you receive a commercial right to use these components under these Terms.

4. License Keys and Activation

A valid and active license key is required to:

  • Receive product updates
  • Access customer support
  • Activate commercial features on your website

License keys are site-specific and may not be shared, transferred, or reused across unrelated domains.

5. License Usage

Each customer is granted a non-transferable license to operate the Licensed Products for business use on their owned websites. This includes all public-facing implementations necessary to operate a paywall, newsletter service, or subscription-based offering.

License keys may not be shared across clients, resold, or embedded into multi-client services without a separate white-label or multi-site agreement.

6. Software Updates and Support

ZEEN101 provides software updates and support only to customers with an active license. Support includes email support, documentation access, bug fixes, and updates to ensure compatibility with current versions of WordPress and major browsers.

7. Termination

Your license may be terminated by ZEEN101 if:

  • You fail to pay applicable license or subscription fees.
  • You violate these Terms, including improper use or distribution.
  • You engage in abuse of services or intellectual property infringement.

Upon termination, your right to use the Licensed Products will cease, and you must deactivate all software installations and delete all copies in your possession.

8. Ownership

All intellectual property rights in the Licensed Products remain the exclusive property of ZEEN101. These Terms do not convey any ownership or title.

9. Warranty Disclaimer

The Licensed Products are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. ZEEN101 disclaims all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and merchantability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or bug-free operation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZEEN101 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use of the Licensed Products.

11. Changes to Terms

ZEEN101 reserves the right to update or revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Licensed Products constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Hosting and Infrastructure

The Publisher is solely responsible for securing their hosting environment, including WordPress installations, server configurations, and any supporting infrastructure. Leaky Paywall operates within the Publisher’s WordPress environment and does not manage external hosting or server-level security.

13. WordPress Updates and Maintenance

The Publisher is responsible for maintaining a secure and up-to-date WordPress installation. This includes applying updates to the WordPress core, themes, plugins—including Leaky Paywall—and other third-party tools. ZEEN101 actively monitors for vulnerabilities via Patchstack and the WordPress plugin repository and issues updates to address known risks.

14. Third-Party Integrations

Leaky Paywall integrates with third-party services such as Stripe for payment processing. ZEEN101 does not store or process raw credit card data. The Publisher is responsible for proper configuration of these services and for maintaining compliance with standards such as PCI DSS.

15. Data Control and Privacy Compliance

The Publisher controls all user and transaction data associated with their website. It is their responsibility to implement secure data handling, backups, and compliance with applicable privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). While Leaky Paywall supports GDPR-aligned functionality, compliance depends on the Publisher’s specific implementation.

16. No Guarantee of Absolute Security

Although ZEEN101 follows security best practices in developing its software, no system is immune to risk. ZEEN101 disclaims all liability for unauthorized access, breaches, or other security-related events arising from the use or misconfiguration of its products.

17. Publisher Responsibilities

By using Leaky Paywall, the Publisher agrees to:

  • Maintain a secure hosting and WordPress environment
  • Use strong and unique administrator credentials
  • Employ reputable hosting and security providers
