Happy New Year!
We’re starting off 2022 with a narrow focus that sets you up for expansive growth.
This month, we have the next step in a framework for improving your reader experience and with it, your paid subscriptions. We’ve also thrown in a quick trick to make division of labor easier and a daring publisher trying something new (and succeeding).
Ready?
Let’s go.
Featured Tool: Subscription Accelerator™ Part 3: Messaging, Touchpoints, and New Products
Start out the new year growing your paid subscriptions with the third step in our Subscription Accelerator™ Framework.
The first step in our Subscription Accelerator™ Framework was creating a free registration level. This grants your casual readers just enough access to keep them interested, while netting you their email address so you can build a relationship with them.
The second step was making good use of that collection of email addresses to start nudging your casual readers into becoming paying subscribers.
This next step is creating a reader experience that increases the odds of those causal readers following through.
The next piece of the framework walks you through how to adjust your messaging to appeal to your reader at each stage of the relationship, targeting them at each touchpoint along their journey. We also walk you through some great and easy ways to create more revenue opportunities. And all of this is punctuated with good examples from other publishers.
To make it incredibly easy for you to access and implement, we’ve again made Part 3 available three different ways.
If you’re a visual learner, we’ve got a video.
If you’re a reader, we’ve got an article.
And if you’re an auditory learner, we’ve made it available as a podcast.
Featured Publication: Wilderness Living
Wilderness Living is a publication focused on (you guessed it), techniques for living in the wilds of the world.
The digital publication includes videos teaching survival skills that we’ve lost in the last century, as well as reflections from the creator on his journey through these experiences.
Wilderness Living launched recently, with both free content and a premium category. And in its first 30 days it went from 0 paid subscribers to 60.
But one of the most remarkable things about Wilderness Living is that it is based entirely on a small tech framework.
As part of the publisher’s personal philosophy, the publication – which is a state of the art subscription site – was built with no big tech and, consequently, no revenue share.
Check them out and see what can be done.
Featured Tip: Allowing Editors/Authors to Manage Settings
Leaky Paywall allows you to grant more functions to your editors and authors, without making them full admins. You can grant them the power to edit or delete posts other than their own, create Pages or categories, manage themes, or more.
Simply change your WordPress capability to reflect the actions you want them to take.
Notice something different?
You may have noticed that our website URL has changed from zeen101 to leakypaywall.
Just in case you were wondering: yes, that’s still us. The same people, the same products, the same content, just under a slightly new name.
Questions? Concerns? Compliments? Don’t be afraid to reach out.
More tips and updates are always available on our site.
Until next time, be safe and be well!
Thanks,
